What Makes the PEDU Program Unique

In our swiftly changing world, knowledge and staying abreast of even the smallest changes are crucial, especially in the field of education.

The PEDU program offers an authentic, research‑informed immersion into the core principles of Finnish pedagogy. Developed and delivered in collaboration with leading experts from Finnish universities and schools, the program combines evidence‑based learning with direct access to real educational environments. Participants engage in classroom observations, structured reflection, and hands‑on workshops that translate Finnish practices into actionable insights for their own institutions. With a strong focus on learner‑centred pedagogy, professional autonomy, and holistic development, the PEDU program provides a systems‑level understanding of how Finnish education achieves its outcomes. Each program is tailored to institutional priorities, ensuring that every component is substantive, relevant, and designed to support long‑term capacity building and international cooperation.

Our Mission

In our swiftly changing world, knowledge and staying abreast of even the smallest changes are crucial, especially in the field of education.

In a rapidly changing and interconnected world, access to knowledge and the ability to apply it meaningfully are crucial—especially in education. Across many regions, education remains a key driver of personal development, institutional change, and long-term societal growth.

Finland, despite its small population, has built an internationally recognised education system grounded in equity, trust, and evidence-based decision-making. Its strength lies not only in excellence at the top, but in enabling all learners—including those who struggle—to succeed. As a result, Finnish educational approaches are studied and adapted in more than fifty countries worldwide.

Prime Education Finland, based in Jyväskylä, the historical heart of Finnish teacher education since 1863, works to connect this expertise with international partners. Operating within the Yritystehdas – a local startup and innovation ecosystem owned by the University of Jyväskylä, City of Jyväskylä and Jamk, we combine research-based insight, practical consulting, and capacity building to support educational development and lifelong learning.

We offer comparative analysis, consulting, and tailored capacity-building programmes for teachers, trainers, and educational leaders, supported by Finnish university-affiliated experts. Through this work, we foster sustainable cooperation between institutions and help partners adopt Finnish educational principles in ways that fit their own contexts.
